About Nooralhuda Alhashim

Nooralhuda Alhashim is a clinical and public health researcher with experience leading community‑engaged studies focused on immigrant health, women’s health, and culturally responsive care. Her work bridges epidemiology, qualitative research, and community partnership, with a particular emphasis on understanding the health experiences of Muslim and immigrant communities in the United States. She has contributed to multi‑phase, community‑based research examining health literacy, end‑of‑life decision‑making, and structural barriers to care, conducting interviews in English and Arabic and supporting thematic analysis, IRB compliance, and grant development. Her broader research background spans oncology clinical trials, maternal health interventions, and population‑level studies of health inequities. In addition to her research roles at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center, Nooralhuda has led national initiatives through the American Muslim Medical Student Association and directed a community health literacy program in Central Ohio. Across all her projects, Nooralhuda is committed to research that is ethically grounded, community‑accountable, and designed to advance health equity for underserved and under‑researched populations.
