About Samia Alkam
Samia Alkam is an education policy researcher, Ph.D. candidate, and student activist based at the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Her work bridges academic research in public education with student leadership and advocacy.
Current Status: She is a Ph.D. candidate specializing in Education Policy Analysis and Leadership at UCR, where she also serves as a Chancellor's Distinguished Fellow.
She is Working as a Graduate Student Researcher with the Civic Engagement Research Group (CERG), her research targets youth civic engagement, digital media literacy, and the impact of disinformation in K-12 public schools.
She has co-authored multiple policy pieces, including a study on state-level media literacy legislation for the National Association of State Boards of Education (NASBE), as well as research assessing democratic and civic learning initiatives in California public schools.
