About Basmah

In 2017, the Rohingya refugee crisis forced over one million people to flee Myanmar to escape genocide and ethnic cleansing. Seeking safety, most found refuge in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, where makeshift camps rapidly emerged. Today, approximately 1.3 million refugees live there. Amid this humanitarian emergency, BASMAH was founded to provide relief and support. Since then, it has grown into a global organization, expanding far beyond emergency aid to establish long-term projects within the camps and across Bangladesh. Today, BASMAH’s work extends across borders, delivering critical assistance in health, education, and community development—transforming countless lives worldwide.
